The Charisse Renee Cecil Scholarship in African and African American Studies

The Charisse Renee Cecil Scholarship was established in 2012 to is to provide support for undergraduate or graduate students minoring in African and African American Studies (AAAS) or majoring in Integrative Studies with a concentration in African and African American Studies. Recipients may be full-time or part-time students and may be in-state or out-of-state residents. Recipients will qualify on the basis of academic merit. Applicants must submit an essay on a topic related to the African Diaspora written in a class from a number of disciplines, including but not limited to: Art and Visual Technology, Communication, Cultural Studies, English, Global Affairs, History and Art History, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Public and International Affairs, Religious Studies, Sociology and Anthropology, and Women and Gender Studies. This scholarship is renewable.
