The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Scholarship Program

The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Scholarship Program is for undergraduate students enroll in George Mason University, Virginia Tech, University of Virginia, Northern Virginia Community College, Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Maryland, Montgomery College, or University of the District of Columbia. Eligible students must be US citizens or US Permanent Residents, regardless of ethnicity (except for the 3 gold scholarships reserved for Vietnamese students from Vietnam).

Additional qualifications are:

1. Outstanding academic achievement (for example, GPA of 3.0 or above)
2. Strong leadership potential
3. A track record of service to the communities
4. Pride in their culture and heritage
5. A passion to apply their academic background to create a better world, both in America and in Vietnam
6. Attending the scholarship ceremony to accept the scholarship award

Special consideration will be given to students with unique situations, for example:
-low to moderate incomes
-single parents returning to school to improve their families’ lives, or
-students who are trying to recover from a past criminal record and improve their own lives.
