Hine Family Endowed Scholarship

The Hine Family Endowed Scholarship was established in 2019 by Scott and Helen Hine to provide scholarship support to support full-time, undergraduate students who encourage and further the relationship between students and alumni. Recipients must submit a 250-word essay detailing their involvement with initiatives and/or programs that connect students and alumni. Examples of involvement include, but are not limited to, volunteering for alumni events, fostering relationships between students and alumni, having a mentor/mentee relationship with an alumnus, and participating in alumni chapter meetings and events. Recipients may be in-state or out-of-state students, must be in good academic standing, and will qualify on the basis of financial need. This scholarship is renewable.

Scott Hine graduated with a BS in decision science in 1985. He has served on the Business School alumni board and the Alumni Association board. Scott received the George Mason University Alumni Association Alumni Service Award in 2016 and also the Business School 20 Prominent Patriots Award in 2015. Scott has “pinned” more than 15,000 new alumni over the past 15 years. Helen Hine graduated with a BS in finance in 1985 and received a MEd in special education in 1999.
