George W. Johnson Endowment and Joanne Ferris Johnson Scholarship
The George W. Johnson Endowment and Joanne Ferris Johnson Scholarship was established in 1996 by the George Mason University Foundation. George W. Johnson was a university president emeritus. At his request, the endowed fund perpetuates the Joanne Ferris Johnson Scholarship, in honor and appreciation of his wife’s efforts to unite the community in support of the development of the arts at Mason. Applicants must be rising juniors or seniors in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. They must also be enrolled full-time and have a 3.0 or greater GPA. The arts, community service, and/or extracurricular activities must be a part of the student’s academic career.
