Women's Club of Great Falls Scholarship Fund Doris Fisher Irwin Endowment Award

The Great Falls Friends and Neighbors Scholarship, Inc. Doris Fisher Irwin Endowment was established in 2020 by NVCC Educational Foundation with the concurrence of the Great Falls Friends and Neighbors Scholarship Fund, Inc, to provide scholarship support for students from the Northern Virginia region who are enrolled in the ADVANCE Program. Recipients will qualify on the basis of financial need and academic merit (minimum GPA of 3.0), and must be residents of Alexandria City, Arlington County, Fairfax City, Fairfax County, Falls Church City, Loudoun County, or Prince William County. Applicants should submit a resume and a one-page biography stating their educational background, program of study, plans for degree completion, and how the financial support will assist them in continuing their education and goals for the future. This scholarship is renewable.

Doris Fisher Irwin was the founder of both the former Great Falls Woman’s Club, and the Great Falls Woman’s Club Scholarship Fund, now known as the Great Falls Friends and Neighbors Scholarship, Inc. Doris was a truly remarkable, passionate, and dedicated woman who whole-heartedly believed in supporting students in their academic journeys.
