Florence M. Schaffner Scholarship Endowment

The Florence M. Schaffner Endowed International Experience Award allows undergraduate or graduate students, enrolled in the School of Nursing, in the College of Public Health to participate in coursework and/or experiential learning in low- and middle-income countries. The endowment was established in 1998 though the estate of the late Florence M. Schaffner, an esteemed nurse. The award provides a travel stipend to assist the student in exploring key issues in the health of poor and marginalized populations in low- and middle-income countries through research or practice activities.

To qualify for this award, student must be traveling to a developing country for educational purposes. Please also include essay information regarding your study abroad or educational travel plans to a developing country, and describe what you hope to obtain or contribute during this experience.
