General Hazel Johnson-Brown Endowed Scholarship

The General Hazel Johnson-Brown Endowed Scholarship was established in 2017 to honor the late Brigadier General Hazel Johnson-Brown, the first female African American General in the Army, an esteemed nursing faculty member, and the founder of Mason’s Center for Health Policy. The fund provides a scholarship for a nursing undergraduate or graduate student within the College of Public Health. Recipients must be enrolled in the School of Nursing and will qualify on the basis of financial need and their essay submission.
